When I started coaching with Nicole I was in a chronic pain cycle going on 6 years…

“I originally started working with Nicole and her team because I started to feel wear on my body after years of intense activity.  There was a fluidity to my movement and freedom I felt I had lost, and I wanted that back.  I've worked with plenty of trainers in the past. Most of my experiences have been negative. The routines felt canned, and like they were running me through a generic program.. Their advice and coaching, unresponsive to how I was feeling about my own body. As an athlete, I feel pretty connected and aware of what my body can and can't do, so I wanted a trainer to help me push beyond my specific barriers.

The biggest change I've felt has been my connection to the ground..There's a new balance to my movement and energy that I take with me not just in sport, but in life.

In game (basketball) my balance and focus have changed majorly.  I’m able to move in and out of stances while feeling in control and do it for longer. I’ve also realized that fatigue, while muscles getting tired is totally normal, would cause me to check out and essentially revert back to bad movement patterns that not only impacted my performance, but caused injury. Nicole has been amazing about guiding me toward pushing through fatigue with fluidity rather than tension, and keeping my mind engaged when my default behavior would be to wander.

One of my favorite part of the sessions is that I find a flow state, where I’m focused, but thoughts are instinctual. I’m not overthinking. I’ve gotten a newfound trust in my body, partly from the countless moments that I wanted to give up on an exercise and didn’t.

 I have gotten more control of and named my inner chaos “Ralph”, ‘My work can get pretty intense at times, so the ability to do this remotely gives me the flexibility I need to continue to make progress when traveling or simply having an intense work week. I have also had a total shift in mindset from pain avoidance to movement enjoyment.”
